A dedicated team of vets and nurses available to provide round the clock care 24/7

A dedicated team of vets and nurses, providing 24-hour care.

At Alma Veterinary Hospital, we are proud to have a dedicated team of vets and nurses available to provide 24-hour care for your pets. Patients requiring hospitalization during the week will be looked after on site by our Hospital team. Over the weekend (Saturday through to Sunday), we have the facility to transfer patients to Vets Now Staines Emergency and Critical Care or Hamilton Specialist Referrals in High Wycombe if they still require further hospitalization or around-the-clock care.

If your pet has an emergency during our normal opening hours, please call us on 01753 858893 where we will arrange an emergency appointment for you.

If you have an emergency when we are closed, please continue to call us on this number where our telephone system will advise you what to do next.

Out of hours emergency cases will be seen by us, at Alma up to 7:00pm and from 8:00am Monday - Friday and between 8:00am - 1:00pm on Saturdays. Outside of these times emergency cover will be provided by our partners Vets Now. If you have an emergency when outside of these hours, please contact Vets Now on 01483 313439. Our local Vets Now clinic phone number will also be available on our answer machine.

Vets Now is the pet equivalent of an accident and emergency service, dedicated to providing pets with access to a vet out of hours. It’s all they do. Our local clinic is based at Willet House in Staines, where their vets and vet nurses are specially trained to deal with pet emergencies. Because they don’t work during the day, they’ll be up and ready to see your pet at the time you need them. There are also Vets Now clinics located in Reading and High Wycombe should these be more convenient to you. Vets Now has been providing dedicated out-of-hours emergency pet care across the UK for more than 15 years, and now responds to almost half-a-million pet emergencies every year. We believe our partnership offers you and your pet the very best level of care, day and night. You can find out more about their service here. Don’t forget, their team don’t work during the day, so you don’t have to worry about disturbing them at night. So, if you’re worried about your pet when we are unavailable, don’t hesitate to give them a call. We would remind you that Vets Now is a pet emergency service. For all other aspects of veterinary care and routine treatments please call us as you would normally, during our daytime opening hours.

At Alma Veterinary Hospital we know your pets are part of your family and our priority is, and always will be, to ensure they have access to the very best care, no matter what the time of day or night.
