Blood Pressure Monitoring

The importance of monitoring blood pressure

At our Hospital we can easily perform non-invasive blood pressure monitoring for our patients. This is done in a similar way to the method that people are familiar with at the Doctor’s surgery.

Hypertension (high blood pressure) is particularly prevalent in older cats, and its recognition and treatment are of great importance. This can commonly be associated with renal disease.

Monitoring blood pressure is a vital tool of human and veterinary medicine. It is particularly useful on a daily basis to assist with monitoring when an animal is anaesthetised.

Our team of veterinary nurses monitor blood pressure regularly, during nurse clinics and throughout many routine and major surgeries.
